Berri Jacque, Plan Director

Schoolhouse of Medicine

Dr. Berri Jacque is an Acquaintance Professor of Medical Education and teaches immunology in a number of professional programs (medical, dental, PA, and MBA) at Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM). He directs The Center for Science Didactics at TUSM which aims to bring biomedical learning to high schoolhouse classrooms, with the goal of broaden participation in scientific discipline. Using a collaborative approach with high-school educators, his research focuses on understanding approaches that build involvement in science and increase wellness literacy to set a diverse, engaged Stem workforce.

EmilyKate McDonough, Program Director

Schoolhouse of Medicine

Dr. EmilyKate McDonough has a groundwork in microbiology and filmmaking, and is a Projection Manager in the TUSM Middle for Science Pedagogy. She oversees the BioScann projection, which introduces high schoolhouse students to careers in science, applied science, engineering, and math (STEM) through role-play, data analysis, and group word. She also oversees the Mini-Med Connect program, which offers mentor experiences for students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in Stalk. Dr. McDonough is experienced in high school curriculum blueprint and evaluation, and is interested in making STEM classes more engaging, relevant, and inclusive for students from all backgrounds. Her research includes understanding how students' interests, beliefs, self-confidence, and sense of belonging impact their goals to pursue Stalk careers.

Program Details

Orientation

Our program begins with an orientation and opening dinner on Sunday at 5:00pm. During this required orientation, nosotros will review the overall program schedule, talk over policies and safety, and reply questions. Staff will be on-manus to address whatever bug.

Plan Breakup

  • Medical Case Studies: Students will work in minor groups led past a medical student teaching assistant to collectively determine the diagnosis and treatment plans for a patient. Location

Guidelines & Admission

University Facilities

Students volition have full access to the university's facilities including the libraries, computer lab and student center. Students will also have total access to Tufts' Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness center, featuring racquet courts, a pond pool and cardio and weight-training equipment.

Health & Wellness

Campus Security

COVID-19

Students are required to attend all elements of the program schedule and any expected absences must be communicated to programme staff in advance. Equally such, our current policy for Pre-Higher students states that students cannot be in a lab or exit campus during their program without the supervision of a staff member or explicit parental permission received through official processes.

Check-in

Residential Life

Residential Students will get the full Tufts Academy experience by living on-campus in one of Tufts' Undergraduate dorms! Rooms are air-conditioned with 24/7 security and hospitality; accessible rooms may be bachelor upon request.

Commuting to the Programme

We know that for some students, living on campus is not the all-time option. We welcome you lot to our program! General Requirements

Residential Students

Availability of Awards

Tufts Pre-College Programs are committed to aiding students from all backgrounds. Although we accept just limited financial aid available, nosotros do our best to distribute the funds to students for whom it can make the greatest divergence in their ability to attend.
